UNDERSTANDING THE ONE AND THE MULTIPLE IN BEDE GRIFFITHS

Seeking the integration between Reason and Intuition

Abstract

This article presents the trajectory of a Benedictine monk, Bede Griffiths, who migrated to India, where he developed a dialogical spirituality between cultures, religions and within nature itself. Initially, elaborates succinctly his biography and the reasons and mechanisms involved in impacting his arrival in the Indian subcontinent, where he boosted his perception of religions and how they build a common platform to deal with the Ultimate Reality. The article pays tribute to this spiritual being by addressing his mystique that led him to build a different vision, about returning to the "Source" or he himself says "return to the center" which is the desire of all religious traditions as well as of every human being.
