The aim of this article is to present some aspects of teaching philosophy from a decolonial perspective. Firstly, we introduce elements that demonstrate the epistemicidal nature of European philosophy in relation to other forms of thought and how this perspective has influenced the conception of philosophy and its teaching in Brazil, consistently placing us in a position of subalternity marked by perpetual backwardness. We then proceed to analyze decoloniality and how, based on this concept, we can reorient the content and methods of philosophy teaching in Brazil. Regarding content, we emphasize the importance of addressing issues such as combating sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, democracy, and freedom of expression. In terms of methods, we underscore the importance of using themes highly relevant to our reality as the guiding principle for planning content.
