The work proposes a reflection on the role of man and his symbiotic relationship with nature in the midst of the debate on Brazilian environmental policy voiced by the State and CSOs. To this end, it aims to question the role of man as a member / intervener of nature and its complex socio-environmental implications. With qualitative research methodology, it contributes to the debate and collective construction of solutions from a political-ideological approach that runs through the emergence of cities, industrialization to contemporary times. In this dialectical construction that brings together the State, society and citizens in a democratic spirit, the intention is to minimize differences and expand channels of dialogue that enable proposals for understanding the relationship between man and nature and promoting socio-environmental responsibility.
