Abstract

In this text, the purpose is to first discuss the environmental changes in the Pantanal of Mato Grosso that are impacting the region and that could become more serious in a scenario of climatic variability. Then, it seeks to get closer to the perceptions of fishermen in the Z-2 Fishermen's Colony, in Cáceres, Mato Grosso, regarding the environmental changes in the region. The ways in which fishermen take ownership and represent changes in their speeches, express worrying understandings and indicate the importance of measures that associate scientific and traditional knowledge in order to contain the factors that most impact the Pantanal biome.
