The Amazonia is recognized as the largest tropical rainforest in existence, equivalent to 40% of tropical rainforest reserves and the largest genetic bank on the planet. More and more themes related to the Amazon occupy a preponderant place in the scenario of great human issues. This article tries to contribute to a reflection on the biodiversity of the Amazon, showing that preservation is not limited only to maintaining the integrity of the environment, but concerns the model of economic development, political relations and the options of life and consumption of all the community that lives there.
